The balance between God's role and our role in healing

My personal recommendations and understanding of the balance between God's role and our role in healing. By Andrew Willis
  1. God's role. - The healing evangelist Andrew Womak has speculated that healing is 75% God and 25% Natural. His explanation is that this percentage is not mentioned in the Bible but it is a way of showing his understanding of the balance between God's role and our natural human efforts at eating well, quitting smoking, etc. If you are seeking God's healing, he encourages the following to “press into” and appropriate God's healing for yourself.
    1. Meditate on and memorize healing scriptures
    2. Read books on Christian healing.
    3. Listen to Christian healing podcasts/sermons by Andrew Womak and others.
  2. Our role – No place in the New Testament was Jesus unable to heal someone. Over and over Jesus is described as healing “All”. There is no record of him saying something like “Oh sorry, you're a smoker, I can't help you.” However, it also makes sense that we could be healed of lung cancer caused by smoking but then if we continue smoking we would likely get it again. So it makes sense that we have a role in our own health. Smoking is just an easy obvious way of showing that our actions affect our health. My recommendation for a healthy healing diet is to follow a low-carb, high-fat, moderate protein eating plan. This is typically called a Ketogenic diet or Keto for short. Over the last 20 years I have tried all sorts of diets including Weight Watchers, Vegetarian, and others. I have followed a Ketogenic eating lifestyle for the last year and a half and have become convinced that it is the way for me to eat for the rest of my life. I have read many books and listened to probably a hundred podcasts and lectures on the many healing benefits of this diet lifestyle. The books listed below are my suggestions of what to read if you are interested in knowing more.
    1. Keto for Cancer, Ketogenic Metabolic Therapy as a Targeted Nutritional Strategy by Miriam Kalamian, 2017 – Covers Keto as a nutritional addition to conventional cancer treatments.
    2. The Alzheimer's Antidote, Using a Low-Carb, High-Fat Diet to Fight Alzheimer's Disease, Memory Loss, and Cognitive Decline by Amy Berger, 2017
    3. Keto Clarity, Your Definitive Guide to the Benefits of a Low-Carb, High-Fat Diet, by Jimmy More with Eric Westman, MD., 2014 – Is an overview of the diet without the specific health focus of the above two books.
    4. Cholesterol Clarity by Jimmy Moore with Eric Westman, MD, 2013 – Provides up to date research information on Cholesterol to correct miss-information currently passed out by most in the medical field.
